Ethylhexanol ( 2-EH) or iso-octane is an organic compound used to produce many chemicals. This substance is a branched eight-carbon alcohol. Ethyl hexanol is a clear, colorless liquid that does not dissolve in water but is well solved in most organic solvents. 2-Ethylhexanol can be easily converted to esters that are used extensively.

Indications:

The main use of 2-ethyl hexanol in the preparation of di-esters, bis (2-ethyl hexyl) phthalate or DEHO, which is a plasticizer. Since an alcohol is fatty, the ester has a laxative. For example, 2-ethyl hexyl ester is for this.
